Browns Injury Alert: CB Mike Ford exits game vs. Jets with a calf injury

Cleveland Browns cornerback and special teams ace Mike Ford left the game against the New York Jets with a calf injury.

Cleveland Browns cornerback Mike Ford left the game against the New York Jets with a calf injury. He suffered the injury on a special teams play. He is questionable to return.

Ford is a special team ace and one of the leaders of that unit. Ford forced a fumble on the second Browns’ kickoff of the game. The veteran punched the ball out of the hands of the returner Israel Abanikanda. The fumble set up the Browns offense inside the 20-yard line.

The Cleveland Browns need to find a replacement for Mike Ford on special teams. Ford should be easier to replace on the defense as rookie Cameron Mitchell is the primary backup cornerback.

The Browns need to get as healthy as possible as the team prepares for a playoff run. The Browns can secure a playoff birth with a win tonight over the New York Jets. The Cleveland Browns are currently leading the New York Jets 34-17 at halftime.
