Browns have BYU OT Blake Freeland on their radar

The Browns have met with an extremely athletic offensive tackle

While the Cleveland Browns do not have a first or second round pick in the 2023 NFL draft, set to begin tomorrow, they have done their due diligence on mid-round prospects who could improve their team. One of those mid-round prospects is BYU offensive tackle Blake Freeland. According to The Draft Network’s Justin Melo, the Browns and the ultra-athletic Freeland have met virtually.

There is a massive disconnect between Freeland’s upper and lower half on tape at this point in his career, but he is young and moldable should the Browns give Bill Callahan the chance to work with him. This is why he is viewed as a day-three pick, even if he did test as one of the most athletic offensive tackles in combine history.

With where the Browns are picking, these selections have a larger bearing on future output on the field than day-one gratification. Freeland is one of those players who will be seen as a depth piece who could contribute in a year or two.
