Browns big betting favorites in Week 2 against Texans

In Week 2, 1 – 0 faces 0 – 1 but the team without a victory is a heavily favored home team:

The Cleveland Browns are coming off a tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1. The Browns proved they belonged on the field with the two-time defending AFC champions but were not able to secure the victory.

Week 2 provides Cleveland a chance to bounce back. The Browns host the Houston Texans at First Energy Stadium. The Texans had a difficult offseason with a lot of questions left to be answered but pulled out a victory in Week 1 against Jacksonville.

Houston was led by former Cleveland quarterback Tyrod Taylor who threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions, in their Week 1 victory. The Texans had a balanced attack with Mark Ingram carrying the ball 26 times for 85 yards and a touchdown to support Taylor’s play in the passing game. Taylor also had 40 yards on the ground.

While one team is 1 – 0 and the other 0 – 1, oddsmakers at Tipico Sportsbook are favoring the winless team. The Browns are currently favored by 12.5 points with an over/under set at 48.5. Tipico is giving the home team a lot of credit for their tough loss and, perhaps, not enough credit for the visitor’s victory over the Jaguars.

Both of those numbers could change as the week goes on but, as of Tuesday, Cleveland will need to totally control the game to cover the spread.
