As we get closer to the regular season information regarding teams’ scheduling is beginning to be reported, including the news that the Brooklyn Nets will open their season against the New Orleans Pelicans.
NBA insider Shams Charania reported Oct. 19th game on Twitter earlier this week. “Notable opener on NBA schedule: New Orleans at Brooklyn on Oct. 19, sources tell me and @WillGuillory, featuring the regular-season returns of All-Stars Zion Williamson and Ben Simmons,” tweeted Charania.
The last time that Ben Simmons played on a basketball court was June of last year, making this his debut back on the hardwood. Simmons had been battling a variety of injuries and needed to overcome the mental stress.
The Nets are leading the league in open roster spots with more than a handful and as the season approaches the pressure to sort out the team’s roster is upon the organization. With a disgruntled Kevin Durant, who knows what will happen on the roster?
