In the Nets’ win over the Pistons on Sunday night, Kevin Durant exploded for 51 points, his season-high. Trailing by five going into the fourth period, the phenom capped off his game with a clutch 13 points in the quarter on his way to dishing out nine assists and grabbing eight rebounds in the end.
There was indeed a shot discrepancy which saw Brooklyn take five less shots than Detroit, but it didn’t matter. The Nets’ efficiency shooting it at 47% outweighed Detroit’s accuracy of 42%. The team also managed to care of the ball more while even winning the battle on the glass.
