Broncos signing CB De’Vante Bausby to practice squad

The Broncos are bringing back cornerback De’Vante Baubsy.

The Denver Broncos are signing cornerback De’Vante Baubsy to their 16-player practice squad. Bausby had interest from seven other teams and picked the Broncos, according to KOA Radio’s Bradon Krisztal.

Bausby (6-2, 190 pounds) entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburg State with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015. He went on to spend time with the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles before a stint in the Alliance of American Football with the San Antonio Commanders last year.

Denver signed Bausby last spring and he won significant playing time before suffering a season-ending neck injury. Bausby was competing for the Broncos’ No. 3 cornerback job this offseason and it was a bit of a surprise when the team waived him on Saturday.

After trading away Isaac Yiadom, Denver has six cornerbacks on the active roster: A.J. Bouye, Bryce Callahan, Davontae Harris, Michael Ojemudia, Duke Dawson and Essang Bassey. Bausby will provide additional depth from the practice squad.
