Broncos sent perfect tweet after Patriots agreed to deal with Cam Newton

The Broncos sent a perfect tweet after Cam Newton agreed to sign with the Patriots.

After the New England Patriots agreed to terms on a one-year deal with quarterback Cam Newton, the Denver Broncos sent a perfect tweet.

Denver’s social media team tweeted a GIF of Newton being sacked by Von Miller in Super Bowl 50. There was no caption — just the GIF alone was perfect.

Newton had a brilliant MVP season in 2015 but he was shut down by the Broncos’ defense in the Super Bowl. Miller was named Super Bowl MVP after he totaled six tackles, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.

Denver won the game, 24-10, marking the third time in franchise history the Broncos won a Super Bowl. Newton was sacked six times and threw one interception with no touchdown passes, finishing the contest with a 55.4 passer rating.

Newton will get a rematch against Denver when New England hosts the Broncos in Week 5 this season. That game will air on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 11. Denver’s complete 2020 schedule can be viewed here.
