The Denver Broncos selected University of Oklahoma wide receiver Marvin Mims in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft on Friday evening (63rd overall). The pick came in a trade with the Detroit Lions, with Denver dealing picks 68 and 139 in exchange for 63 and 183. The pick was announced by Pro Football Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware.

Mims (5-11, 184 pounds) played in 37 career games for the Sooners, with 24 starts. At the NFL combine, Mims ran a 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds and recorded a 39.5-inch vertical jump and a broad jump of 10 feet, 9 inches.

Along with playing wide receiver, Mims also was a kick return specialist, which means that 2022 NFL draftee Montrell Washington is being put on notice for a battle at Dove Valley.

With the University of Oklahoma, Mims led the team in receiving yards in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Mims also was a First Team All-Big 12 selection in 2022.

Mims will reunite with former Sooner teammates Nik Bonitto and Delarrin Turner-Yell in Denver.
