In his recent three-round 2024 NFL mock draft, Curt Popejoy of Draft Wire has the Denver Broncos passing on quarterbacks at No. 12 overall to instead land a QB in the third round.
Drake Maye (No. 2), Caleb Williams (No. 3) and Jayden Daniels (No. 8) go off the board before the Broncos’ go on the clock in the first round of Popejoy’s mock. Denver then lands FSU pass rusher Jared Verse at No. 12, passing on QBs Michael Penix (No. 20), Bo Nix (No. 27) and J.J. McCarthy (No. 42).
When the Broncos go back on the clock in the third round (Denver traded its second-round pick for Sean Payton last year), the team lands Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt at No. 76 overall.
Pratt (6-2, 200 pounds) played four seasons for the Green Wave, completing 60.6% of his passes for 9,611 yards with 90 touchdowns against 26 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,147 yards and 28 scores.
