The Denver Broncos selected LSU offensive lineman Lloyd Cushenberry in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft on Friday evening.

Cushenberry (6-3, 312 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 5.27 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 25 times at the combine earlier this offseason. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Cushenberry to Corey Linsley, who was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He’s a do-your-job prospect with the strength to handle an odd-front nose and could be a long-time starter,” Zierlein wrote of Cushenberry on NFL.com before the draft.

Cushenberry helped the Tigers win the CFB National Championship in 2019 and earned first-team All-SEC honors following his junior season.

Cushenberry was the second-best interior offensive lineman in this year’s class, according to Luke Easterling’s rankings on Draft Wire.

Michigan’s Cesar Ruiz was the only interior offensive lineman that Draft Wire had ranked higher than Cushenberry. Ruiz was widely considered the top center prospect going into the draft.
