Broncos QB Drew Lock voted NFL.com’s Rookie of the Week

Broncos quarterback Drew Lock has been named the NFL Rookie of the Week after throwing for over 300 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday.

Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock has been voted the NFL.com Rookie of the Week, the league announced Friday.

Lock completed 81.5 percent of his passes for 309 yards with three touchdown passes against one interception in Denver’s 38-24 win over the Houston Texans in Week 13. He became the first rookie QB to throw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in his first career road start in the Super Bowl era.

Lock beat out Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown (153 yards, two touchdowns), Steelers receiver/returner Diontae Johnson (145 combined yards, two touchdowns), Bills running back Devin Singletary (118 total yards) and Giants receiver Darius Slayton (154 yards, two touchdowns) to win the award.

Lock is the second Broncos player to take home an award this week, joining safety Kareem Jackson, who was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. In his first game against his former team, Jackson totaled 11 tackles, one interception and three pass breakups. He also returned a fumble 70 yards for a touchdown.

Lock and Jackson will look to build on their strong performances when the Broncos face the Kansas City Chiefs on the road in Week 14.
