Broncos PFF grades: Best, worst players from Week 2 loss to Steelers

RB Tyler Badie (79.1) was Denver’s best offensive player on Sunday. QB Bo Nix (46.8) was one of the worst, according to PFF grades.

Following a 13-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pro Football Focus has released game grades for Denver Broncos players. PFF grades players on a 0 (worst) to 100 (best) scale. Check out the best and worst of Week 2 below.

Best Offensive Players

  • RB Tyler Badie: 79.1
  • WR Josh Reynolds: 77.6
  • WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey: 67.4
  • G Quinn Meinerz: 62.3
  • RB Javonte Williams: 60.0

Williams getting the fifth-best grade on offense is a bit surprising given that he averaged just 1.5 yards per carry. PFF seems to be casting blame for that poor YPC average on the offensive line. Badie was productive on a small sample size of two touches. We’ll see if his utilization goes up next week.

Best Defensive Players

  • LB Alex Singleton: 78.2
  • OLB Jonah Elliss: 73.0
  • DB Brandon Jones: 70.2
  • DB P.J. Locke: 69.2
  • CB Levi Wallace: 66.1

Singleton continues to anchor the defense and Elliss stepped up after Baron Browning left with an injury.

Worst Offensive Players

  • TE/FB Nate Adkins: 37.9
  • G Ben Powers: 42.7
  • TE Greg Dulcich: 44.6
  • OT Garett Bolles: 45.9
  • QB Bo Nix: 46.8

Nix’s rushing grade (54.4) was unsurprisingly better than his passing grade (47.8). The offensive line had a poor showing overall and Dulcich had two drops.

Worst Defensive Players

  • DL Jordan Jackson: 42.7
  • DL D.J. Jones: 43.6
  • CB Pat Surtain: 46.0
  • DL John Franklin-Myers: 50.8
  • LB Kristian Welch: 52.3

An uncharacteristically poor performance from PS2 and an extremely bad showing from the defensive line, which in part explains how Pittsburgh managed to rush for 141 yards.

Special Teams

  • ST Michael Burton: 81.4
  • ST Keidron Smith: 76.5
  • ST Nate Adkins: 75.5
  • P Riley Dixon: 65.1
  • K Wil Lutz: 62.2 (FG) 60.0 (KO)
  • R Marvin Mims: 60.4

Mims averaged 6.7 yards per punt return and he did not get an opportunity to return any kickoffs.
