There is a silver lining to being a bad team in the NFL.
The Denver Broncos are 1-4 going into Week 6, which puts them on pace to secure a top-three pick in the 2024 NFL draft. If the season ended today, the Broncos would hold the third overall pick in next April’s draft.
The Carolina Panthers (0-5) are currently the favorites to secure the No. 1 overall pick, but that selection belongs to the Chicago Bears via trade. The Bears are in a great spot right now because they are also 1-4, so they currently hold the top two picks in 2024.
Here’s a look at the current order of the top 10 picks in the 2024 NFL draft, courtesy of Tankathon.com.
1. Chicago Bears (via Panthers, 0-5)
2. Bears (1-4)
3. Denver Broncos (1-4)
4. Minnesota Vikings (1-4)
5. New England Patriots (1-4)
6. New York Giants (1-4)
7. Arizona Cardinals (1-4)
8. Green Bay Packers (2-3)
9. Las Vegas Raiders (2-3)
10. Cardinals (via Houston Texans, 2-3)
There’s a big tank watch game coming up in Week 6 as the Bears and Vikings are set to face off on Sunday. The result of that game could have big implications for the order of the top of the draft next spring.
