Broncos not expected to activate RB Tyler Badie from IR before deadline

Barring an injury at running back, the Broncos are not expected to activate Tyler Badie from IR before his 21-day return window closes.

The Denver Broncos are not expected to activate running back Tyler Badie (back) from injured reserve before his return deadline expires, according to multiple reports.

Badie is “fully healthy,” according to the Denver Gazette‘s Chris Tomasson, but the Broncos have a full backfield with Javonte Williams, Jaleel McLaughlin, Audric Estime and Blake Watson all on the 53-man roster.

Barring an injury at the running back position, Denver is not expected to activate Badie from IR before his Jan. 14 deadline to return expires.

The Broncos previously brought back six players from injury lists this fall. Since-traded pass rusher Baron Browning, offensive tackle, Mike McGlinchey, cornerback Damarri Mathis, running back Audric Estime and center Luke Wattenberg returned from IR earlier this season. Denver also activated linebacker Drew Sanders from the physically unable to perform list.

The Broncos opted to cut wide receiver Josh Reynolds when his IR window was closing, and the team chose to keep safety Delarrin Turner-Yell on the PUP list for the rest of the season.

The Broncos also have two players — linebacker Alex Singleton (ACL) and offensive lineman Quinn Bailey (ankle) — who are on season-ending IR.
