Broncos met with QB Malik Willis at the Senior Bowl

A dual-threat QB, Malik Willis totaled 6,942 yards from scrimmage and scored 74 touchdowns in two seasons at Liberty.

Liberty quarterback Malik Willis told media members on Wednesday that he met with the Denver Broncos at the Senior Bowl, according to Aric DiLalla of the team’s official website.

Willis (6-1, 225 pounds) is a redshirt senior who started his college career as a backup at Auburn before transferring to Liberty in 2019. The 22-year-old quarterback completed 61.1% of his passes for 2,857 yards with 27 touchdown passes against 12 interceptions last season.

Willis also rushed 197 times for 878 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2021. A dual-threat QB, Willis totaled 6,942 yards from scrimmage and scored 74 touchdowns in two seasons at Liberty.

It appears that Willis was one of the winners at Senior Bowl practices this week, with NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah dubbing him “the most impressive QB here through 2 practices.”

The Broncos have 11 picks to use in the NFL draft this year, including ninth overall in the first round. ESPN’s Todd McShay has Denver selecting Willis in the first round in his most recent 2022 NFL mock draft. The draft will be held in Las Vegas from April 28-30.
