The Denver Broncos interviewed South Carolina defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw at the NFL combine last week, according to a report from KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Kinlaw (6-5, 324 pounds) started his college career playing junior college football at Jones County before transferring to South Carolina. He was a disruptive force for the Gamecocks from 2018-2019, totaling 65 tackles — including 15 tackles for losses — and 10 sacks.

Kinlaw also broke up eight passes, recovered four fumbles and forced three fumbles during his time at South Carolina. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein believes Kinlaw could play as a defensive end in a 3-4 scheme in the NFL.

Zierlein has compared Kinlaw to Michael Brockers, who was selected by the St. Louis (now Los Angeles) Rams in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft. Brockers has totaled 344 tackles and 23 sacks in eight seasons.

Kinlaw is the 11th-best player in this year’s class, according to Luke Easterling’s 2020 NFL draft big board for Draft Wire.
