Broncos’ Justin Simmons is the 6th-best safety in ‘Madden 21’

Broncos defensive back Justin Simmons is the sixth-best safety in ‘Madden NFL 21.’

Denver Broncos defensive back Justin Simmons is the sixth-best safety in Madden NFL 21, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Simmons is rated 90 overall, making him the Broncos’ second-best player in the video game. Denver outside linebacker Von Miller (97 overall) is the Broncos’ highest-rated player in this year’s game.

Denver safety Kareem Jackson (87 overall) didn’t crack the top-10 at his position but he’s not far behind. Earl Thomas (88 overall) is the 10th-best safety in the game, according to EA Sports.

Madden ratings don’t mean much but Simmons will probably be pleased to know that he’s rated higher than Eddie Jackson (89 overall). Jackson is the highest-paid safety in the NFL and Simmons likely wants a similar contract from the Broncos.

Denver made Simmons an offer to make him the fifth- or sixth-highest paid safety in the NFL earlier this offseason. Simmons turned down that offer because a deal closer to his market value would make him the second-highest paid safety in the league. After playing on his franchise tag this year, Simmons will be scheduled to become a free agent in 2021.
