The Denver Broncos have (or soon will) host Oregon State tight end Luke Musgrave on a pre-draft visit, according to The Draft Network’s Ryan Fowler. He is the nephew of former Broncos quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave.
The younger Musgrave (6-6, 253 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.61 seconds and a 10-yard split in 1.54 seconds at the NFL combine. Draft Wire ranked Musgrave as the fourth-best tight end in this year’s class after the combine.
Musgrave caught 22 passes for 304 yards and one touchdown in 10 games in 2021. He then started 2022 strong with 11 receptions for 169 yards and one score through two games before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
Many mock drafts now have Musgrave going off the board as early as the second round. Barring a trade up, Denver would need the tight end to slip to the third round, where the Broncos hold picks Nos. 67 and 68 overall.
The 2023 NFL draft will be held in Kansas City from April 27-29.
