Broncos hoping to rewrite their London history

The Broncos lost both of their previous two games in London.

The Denver Broncos have played outside the United States eight times in their history, but only once in the regular season.

Denver has played in England twice, losing both games. The Broncos will look to get their first win in London when they face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Denver’s first game in London was a showdown with the Los Angeles Rams in 1987. The Broncos lost 28-27, but it was a preseason game, so no harm done.

Denver returned to London for the team’s first-ever regular-season international game in 2010. It was a disaster.

The Broncos lost to the San Francisco 49ers 24-16 and while the final score doesn’t look disastrous, the team’s overall trip was.

The NFL fined the team and then-coach Josh McDaniels after one of the team’s staff members was caught filming the 49ers’ walk-through practice before their game. McDaniels was fired one week later.

Denver is 0-2 in London and a cheating scandal marred the team’s last trip across the pond. The Broncos will hope for better results when they face the Jaguars in Week 8.
