The Broncos had a formal interview with Tennessee offensive tackle Darnell Wright at the NFL combine.

The Denver Broncos had a formal interview with Tennessee offensive tackle Darnell Wright at the NFL combine, according to The Draft Network’s Ryan Fowler. NFL teams are allowed to have up to 45 formal visits with players at the combine each year.

Wright (6-5, 333 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 5.01 seconds and a 10-yard split in 1.81 seconds at the combine. He is a versatile lineman who has experiuence at guard, left tackle and right tackle. Wright earned first-team All-SEC recognition as a senior last season.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Wright to D.J. Fluker, who was a first-round pick in the 2013 NFL draft. Wright is also projected to be a first-round pick, so barring a trade, Denver seems unlikely to land him in April.

The Broncos’ top picks in this year’s draft are back-to-back selections in the third round, Nos. 67 and 68 overall.

The 2023 NFL draft will be held in Kansas City from April 27-29.
