The Denver Broncos are lacking depth at wide receiver — just ask any of the team’s fans.
In a poll on Twitter last week, Broncos fans were asked what Denver’s biggest position of need is entering the NFL draft. A majority of fans (53.2%) answered wide receiver.
The team’s second-biggest need, according to fans who voted, is the offensive line (29.2%), followed by cornerback (14.4%). All other positions — “other” in the poll — received just 3.2% of votes.
Draft pundits seem to agree with the fans — many mock drafts have the Broncos selecting a WR with the 15th overall pick in the first round.
Denver had a pre-draft video call with WR Denzel Mims and the team spoke with WRs Justin Jefferson, Brandon Aiyuk, Laviska Shenault, Gabriel Davis, Jalen Reagor, Tee Higgins, CeeDee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy at the NFL combine. The team might have had more visits that weren’t reported.
The Broncos will have 10 picks to use in the draft (April 23-25) and it’s probably safe to assume two or more will be used on wide receivers.
