Broncos fall three spots in NFL power rankings after loss to Chiefs

Following their loss on SNF, the Broncos are now ranked No. 20 in USA TODAY’s NFL power rankings.

Following a 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 13, the Denver Broncos are now ranked 20th in Nate Davis’ latest NFL power rankings for USA TODAY Sports. That’s down three spots from their No. 17 ranking last week.

Here is Davis’ commentary with the team’s ranking this week:

Perhaps no team better exemplifies how condensed the AFC playoff race is. Denver entered Sunday night in eighth place in the conference, would have moved up to fourth (and first place in the AFC West) with a win at Kansas City but fell to 12th in defeat.

Davis considers the Broncos the worst team in the division, ranking them behind the Chiefs (No. 5), Los Angeles Chargers (No. 11) and Las Vegas Raiders (No. 16). Denver will face each of their AFC West rivals one more time this year to close out the season.

The Green Bay Packers are ranked No. 1 this week and the Jacksonville Jaguars are ranked No. 32. To view the complete NFL power rankings, visit USATODAY.com.
