Broncos expected to hire Ben Kotwica as special teams coordinator

The Broncos are expected to hire Ben Kotwica as their new special teams coordinator.

The Denver Broncos are expected to hire Ben Kotwica as their new special teams coordinator, according to a report from JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington.

Kotwica, 48, most recently served as an assistant special teams coach with the Minnesota Vikings in 2022. Before that, he served as ST coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons (2019-2020) and Washington (2014-2018). He also coached with the New York Jets from 2007-2013, primarily on special teams.

During his time in New York, Kotwica overlapped with Rex Ryan, who is a candidate for Denver’s defensive coordinator position, and Mike Westhoff, who has hinted on social media that he might be joining the Broncos, presumably in a senior advisor role for special teams.

Westhoff coached the New Orleans Saints’ special teams from 2017-2018 under Sean Payton, who is now the head coach in Denver. Payton is now busy assembling his staff with the Broncos, and Kotwica is the latest addition to our coaching staff tracker.
