Broncos defeat Raiders 16-15, Drew Lock improves to 4-1 as a starter

Broncos quarterback Drew Lock helped Denver defeat the Raiders in Week 17, improving his win-loss record to 4-1 as a starter.

The Denver Broncos defeated the Oakland Raiders 16-15 in Week 17 of the 2019 NFL season on Sunday, closing out the year with a win. Denver ends the season with a 7-9 record but rookie quarterback Drew Lock ends the year with an impressive 4-1 record as a starter.

Lock had a steady performance against Oakland, completing 17 of 28 passes for 177 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions, good for a 90.9 passer rating. Lock, who was selected by Denver in the second round of April’s draft, threw seven touchdowns against three interceptions this season.

Under Lock, the Broncos defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 23-20, beat the Houston Texans 38-4, lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 23-3, defeated the Detroit Lions 27-17 and then beat the Raiders on Sunday.

Denver has been struggling to find a quarterback ever since Peyton Manning in 2016, starting Brock Osweiler, Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, Case Keenum, Joe Flacco and Brandon Allen before turning to Lock.

It’s safe to assume Lock will be viewed as the starter entering 2020.
