Broncos agree to terms with rookie OL Lloyd Cushenberry

The Broncos have agreed to terms on a four-year contract with rookie center Lloyd Cushenberry.

The Denver Broncos agreed to terms on a four-year contract with rookie center Lloyd Cushenberry, the team announced Wednesday.

Cushenberry’s contract is expected to have a signing bonus of $946,176 with a total value of $4,241,176, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. His signing bonus will be prorated over the four years of his contract for salary cap purposes.

Cusheberry (6-4, 315 pounds) started at LSU from 2018-2019 and earned second-team All-America honors last season. He started every game of quarterback Joe Burrow’s career and won a national championship last year.

Cushenberry, one of the team’s third-round picks, is expected to compete with Patrick Morris and Austin Schlottmann for the team’s starting center position this summer. Cushenberry will likely be considered the favorite to win the job.

Denver’s draft class will have combined salary cap hits of $9,980,665 but the net cap hit will be closer to $3,219,217. After signing their draft class, the Broncos will have about $13,837,021 in remaining salary cap space.
