Broderick Jones explains his goals for 2023 season with Pittsburgh Steelers

A very humble answer from Broderick Jones

The Pittsburgh Steelers made a big move when they traded up to select former Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones with the 14th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The expectations are high for Jones, who is expected to be the Steelers’ starting left tackle this season.

After participating in his first practice during the rookie minicamp last week, Jones took the time to address the media. When asked about his focus on winning the left tackle position, Jones humbly diverted the conversation towards personal growth and dedication.

“My biggest focus is coming in and doing the best I can do,” Jones said. “Learning the playbook and being the best version of me.”

The Steelers open the season with the San Francisco 49ers, meaning should Jones win the starting left tackle position, his first task will be to slow down 49ers pass rusher Nick Bosa.

Jones, who declared for the NFL as redshirt sophomore, is coming off a first-team All-SEC season in which he did not allow a sack in 15 games.

Jones will join former teammates wide receiver George Pickens and tight end Darnell Washington in Pittsburgh.
