Hopefully, Ole Miss fans enjoyed their popcorn, because Saturday afternoon’s matchup against Alabama left them with little else to get excited about.
The 42-21 final score doesn’t do this one justice, as the Crimson Tide built a 35-0 lead into the third quarter, allowing the Rebels to post a couple of garbage-time touchdowns to make things respectable on the scoreboard.
Brian Robinson Jr. carried the day for Alabama, racking up 171 yards and four touchdowns on 36 carries. Matt Corral and the Ole Miss offense was held to just 291 total yards, and Bama’s dominant defense refused to give up any points until the game was well out of hand.
Robinson showed off an impressive combination of power, explosiveness, patience and vision, which should have NFL scouts moving him up the draft board.
