Brennan Eagles leads group of offensive trio that are key for the Longhorns

These three offensive players will be paramount for the Texas Longhorns to leave Manhattan with a victory on Saturday.

Speaking of the wide receiver Brennan Eagles, he ranks as the No. 2 most important offensive player. He has been a man on fire as of late, picking up where Joshua Moore started. Over the last three games, he has hauled in 12 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns. That is a blistering 20 yards per reception.

Against Iowa State, he was able to use his long strides to get behind the defense and make some great catches for the offense. Without him, the team likely isn’t leading early on in that game. The issue is that Texas went away from him when they needed to continue to feed him. In the fourth quarter, Eagles was targeted just once. That catch went for 15 yards.

The Kansas State defense is one that has struggled, specifically against explosive pass plays. They are dead last in the Big 12 with 36 pass plays of 20 yards or more. If Ehlinger has time in the pocket, he will need to continue to take shots down the field with Eagles being on the receiving end.
