Another year, another transfer portal QB option for the Oregon Ducks.
Former Washington State quarterback Cam Ward is coming to Eugene.
With former Auburn QB Bo Nix heading off to the NFL this year following a historic stint at Oregon, the Ducks will once again be going to the transfer portal market to get a potential signal-caller for the 2024 season.
This past year, Ward threw for 3,736 yards and 25 touchdowns for the Cougars with just 7 interceptions and 66.6% completion. In his career at WSU, he has almost 7,000 yards, 48 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. He’s also added 202 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground in his two years in Pullman as well.
In two seasons at the FCS level Incarnate Word before transferring to WSU, Ward had a total of 71 TDs and 14 interceptions. He currently has one year of eligibility remaining.
While Ward will likely be the favorite to win the starting QB job in Eugene, he will have to compete with the likes of Ty Thompson, Austin Novosad, Michael Van Buren, and Luke Moga before winning the top job.
Ward also continues the long line of transfer portal QBs to come to Eugene, which over the years has included Nix, Anthony Brown, Dakota Prukop, and Vernon Adams, among others.
