Jedrick Wills Jr. decided to forgo his senior year of eligibility to pursue a career in the NFL, and his decision worked out on night one of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Cleveland Browns selected Wills at No. 10 overall and wasted no time taking him off the board as the second offensive lineman in the draft.
There’s no question Wills can have an immediate impact in Cleveland to protect Baker Mayfield, but we can only wait and see how quickly he will be utilized.
Wills was the right tackle for the Crimson Tide, which is the equivalent to the left tackle for every right-handed quarterback, because of Tua Tagovailoa’s rare left-handedness.
He has been working on making the transition to left tackle so that he can continue holding the same responsibility of protecting the blind side for Mayfield.
His time at Alabama was cut short by a year, but Crimson Tide fans know he was ready to further his career and will succeed at the professional level.
The Browns got a reliable guy in their front line now, and we are excited to see what he will do for years to come.
