The first Auburn Tiger has come off the board with the selection of Roger McCreary.
The Tennessee Titans were looking for an insurance policy for two of their cornerbacks. Caleb Farley and Kristian Fulton both have had issues with staying healthy in their short NFL careers, the Titans addressed that need with the early selection of McCreary. He will give them versatility at the position and durability. Not to mention McCreary had first-round tape but the knock was his arm length.
The Titans addressed a need at cornerback and now can focus on other spots with this selection.
McCreary finished off his four-year career on the Plains with 39 games played, only four coming in his freshman season. He tallied 135 tackles, 10 TFLs, 1 sack, 6 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 fumble forced. According to Pro Football Focus, McCreary also batted down 29 passes throughout his career and allowed an NFL passer rating of 57.8 this past season.
As a Tiger, McCreary spent most of his time as a boundary defender. But he has the flexibility to play the slot or down in the box.
