Alabama head coach Nick Saban tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. The diagnosis forced him to leave the Alabama Football facility and self-isolate at home.
Yesterday, Jeff Allen, Alabama’s head athletic trainer revealed that a negative test was received by Saban using an SEC-sanctioned testing lab. Allen claimed that if the six-time National Champion-winning coach was able to test negative three times, with each test being 24 hours apart, he would be able to return to normal activities, rendering the initial positive test a false positive.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Saban’s third negative test, which allows him to be eligible to coach for tonights Week 4 matchup against the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs.
Tuscaloosa News’ Cecil Hurt, who originally reported on Saban’s positive test, confirmed the thrid negative COVID test.
