Breaking down the New Orleans Pelicans’ future draft picks

The New Orleans Pelicans traded Jrue Holiday on Monday, receiving a draft haul in return that adds to their treasure trove of draft picks.

On Monday night, the New Orleans Pelicans reportedly completed a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks that would send away Jrue Holiday to one of the Eastern Conference’s elite teams. In return, the Pelicans received a treasure trove of draft picks akin to the one received after trading Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers last off-season.

In total, the Pelicans received the No. 24 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft which originally belonged to the Pacers before being dealt to the Bucks in the sign-and-trade for Malcolm Brogdon along with two future firsts in 2025 and 2027 and pick swaps in 2024 and 2026.

Paired with the host of future draft assets in the Davis trade and a handful of other trades to net second round picks, the Pelicans currently hold 28 draft picks over the next eight drafts including 13 first round picks, just shy of both four draft picks per draft and two first-round picks per draft.

Here is a breakdown of each pick the Pelicans own moving forward, their protections and where they came from.
