Breaking down Packers’ final injury report of Week 7 vs. Texans

Breaking down the final injury report of Week 7 before the Packers take on the Houston Texans.

The Green Bay Packers ruled out defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt and listed receiver Dontayvion Wicks and defensive lineman Colby Wooden as questionable on the final injury report before facing the Houston Texans in Week 7.

How will the injury situation affect Sunday’s showdown?

Here’s an in-depth breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report ahead of Week 7:

Out (1)

DL Devonte Wyatt (ankle): For the third straight week, Wyatt didn’t practice and will miss a game. Coach Matt LaFleur expressed hope that he would be back in some capacity next week. Wyatt’s injury has opened the door for Karl Brooks, who had two sacks in Los Angeles and a strip-recovery of a fumble last week.

Questionable (2)

WR Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder): He practiced in a limited capacity all week, but it’s possible the Packers want him to rest the shoulder another week before facing live contact. If Wicks isn’t available, expect more snaps for Bo Melton and Malik Heath in complementary roles.

DL Colby Wooden (knee): Wooden didn’t practice Wednesday and was limited the last two days. He’s been playing a bigger role with Devonte Wyatt injury. If Wooden can’t go, the Packers could activate Jonathan Ford from injured reserve to provide depth along the defensive front. Regardless of Wooden’s status, Karl Brooks will be an important player for the Packers interior defense on Sunday.

No status designation

The following players have no status designation and will be available to play on Sunday vs. the Texans: CB Jaire Alexander, DL Kenny Clark, OL Elgton Jenkins, TE Tucker Kraft, C Josh Myers, WR Jayden Reed and WR Christian Watson. DL Jonathan Ford has no status designation but remains designated to return from injured reserve.

Texans injury report

The Texans ruled out four defensive starters: LB Azeez Al-Shaair, CB Kamari Lassiter, S Jimmie Ward and LB Herny To’oTo’o. Al-Shaair leads the team in stops, while Lassiter and Ward represent half the starting secondary. Veteran receiver Robert Woods is also out. Starting defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi is questionable. The Texans also added receiver Steven Sims to the injury report on Friday with a back injury — he’s questionable.
