Breaking down Alabama’s 2021 commitments: WR Jacorey Brooks

Five-star wide receiver Jacorey Brooks is the next man up on Roll Tide Wire’s list of breaking down Alabama’s 2021 recruiting class.

After a rocking start, the Alabama Crimson Tide is steadily climbing up the recruiting rankings for the 2021 class. As things stand, that class currently at No. 24 (No. 6 in the SEC) according to 247Sports and No. 27 (No. 7) according to Rivals.com.

With eight current commitments, Roll Tide Wire decided to break those pledges down player-by-player for you. Next up on the list is wide receiver Jacorey Brooks, who recently earned his fifth star from 247Sports, out of Booker T. Washington High School in Miami (Fla.).

Analysis: Jacorey Brooks is one of the more intriguing additions for Alabama in its 2020 recruiting class. The newly rated five-star isn’t the only receiver committed to the Crimson Tide (Agiye Hall, Christian Leary), but he’s the most highly rated — and for good reason.

At 6-foot-3, 185 pounds as a high school junior, Brooks has the ideal frame and body type to eventually develop into an ideal starting X-receiver in college football — and probably the NFL as well. He’s long, he’s physical and he’s got great hands to go with the ability to attack the ball at the catch point and out muscle opposing defensive backs.

Alabama lost Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III following last season, and more than likely, they’ll lose DeVonta Smith (senior) and Jaylen Waddle (early entrant) following 2020. That means that these young receivers will have every opportunity to land a big role in the offense as early as 2021.

Brooks should be considered a likely candidate to fill one of those voids.
