After a rocking start, the Alabama Crimson Tide is steadily climbing up the recruiting rankings for the 2021 class. As things stand, that class is 25th (No. 7 in the SEC) according to 247Sports and 28th (No. 8) according to Rivals.com.
With eight commitments, Roll Tide Wire decided to break those pledges down player-by-player for you. Next up on the list is wide receiver Agiye Hall out of Valrico, Florida.
Agiye Hall, Wide Receiver
Height: 6-3 / Weight: 190
High School: Bloomingdale High School, Valrico, Florida
Ranking (247Sports comp): 4-star / No. 70 overall / No. 11 WR / No. 12 FL
Ranking (247Sports): 4-star / No. 97 overall / No. 12 WR / No. 14 FL
Ranking (Rivals): 4-star / No. 115 overall / No. 17 WR / No. 11 FL
Ranking (ESPN): 4-star / No. 57 overall / No. 6 WR / No. 12 FL
Analysis: Agiye Hall isn’t like some of the other wide receivers who have recently found success in Tuscaloosa. At 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, his length automatically separates him from Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III, DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle.
He doesn’t win the same way either. His route-running is still a work in progress, but Hall does have the ability to stretch defenses vertically with a combination of his length and deep speed. He does an excellent job of going up and making tough, contested catches.
The need for a strong receiver class for 2021 cannot be overstated with the losses — ones that have happened and ones that are expected to happen — at the position, Hall will be needed, maybe even immediately.
