The College Football playoff recently announced some key dates that ought to be marked on the calendars of college football fans nationwide, as well as some changes that were made due to the constantly changing landscape of collegiate athletics because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
The Championship game will be played in Miami, Florida on Jan. 11, 2021. The two playoff games, the Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl, will both be played on Jan. 1, 2021.
However, Executive Director of the College Football Playoff, Bill Hancock, explained that a change would be made to the committee’s final day to decide the rankings.
The selection day will be on Dec. 20, 2020. The final deliberations will be held December 18-19-20 in Grapevine, Texas.
“With recent schedule changes for the regular season, it makes sense for the committee to make its final rankings after the conference championship games, when it can get a complete picture of the season,” Hancock said. “The selection committee members understand the need to be flexible as we all navigate uncharted waters this season, and this move will allow them to evaluate all the available information.”
