BREAKING: Auburn-Mississippi State postponed due to COVID-19

The Tigers and Bulldogs are set to play on Saturday in Starkville but Mississippi State has had to halt practice because of COVID-19 positive tests.

Count Mississippi State as yet another SEC football program that is dealing with COVID-19 issues.

The Bulldogs have stopped football activities as of Monday and the game against Auburn this weekend has been postponed by the SEC.

The Auburn at Mississippi State football game of November 14 has been postponed due to positive tests and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the Mississippi State football program, consistent with Southeastern Conference COVID-19 management requirements. The game has been tentatively rescheduled for Dec. 12.

The SEC’s COVID-19 management requirements, as developed by the SEC’s Return to Activity and Medical Guidance Task Force, are available on SECsports.com. (full report).

Auburn was coming off its bye week heading into the matchup after its best performance of the season against LSU in a 48-11 victory. The Bulldogs earned their second victory of the season by defeated Vanderbilt 24-17.

Earlier on Monday, it was reported that LSU was dealing with COVID-19 issues, putting its matchup against Alabama in jeopardy.
