In one of his biggest wins yet as an Oregon head coach, Dan Lanning picked up a huge commitment on Wednesday afternoon with 4-star OL Dave Iuli announcing his commitment to the Ducks, choosing them over both the Miami Hurricanes and USC Trojans.
Iuli, a 4-star OL who committed to the Ducks last season, opened up his recruitment following the departure of Mario Cristobal and was thought by many to be heading to Miami to join the Hurricanes. Cristobal has been leading his recruitment for a while and many expected Iuli to follow him to Coral Gables, but a visit to Eugene over the past weekend looks like it played a big role in the Washington prospect’s decision.

Standing at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds, Iuli is the No. 10 IOL in the 2022 class, and No. 188 overall. This is a big win for Lanning because it’s a recruiting battle that was on the offensive side of the ball, and not where he specializes as a former defensive coordinator.
The Ducks are expecting to be in a number of recruiting battles against USC and Lincoln Riley — an offensive-minded coach — in the years to come, and for Lanning to edge him out in the recruitment for Iuli is notable.
