When Tua Tagovailoa took off with the ball late in the third quarter of Sunday’s matchup with the Jets, not many were surprised initially.
However, when the quarterback decided not to slide, but instead take on Jets’ defensive back Michael Carter II, the crowd and players were stunned. Tagovailoa shouldered through Carter’s tackle and gained a couple of extra yards.
On Monday, Tagovailoa’s teammate, safety Brandon Jones, shared his support for his quarterback’s play on TikTok. Jones participated in a viral trend that uses the song “Pope is a Rockstar” by Sales. The song lyrics are misheard by TikTok users as “Go Little Rockstar,” and the trend usually involves a video of the users’ friend or a younger version of themself with the misheard lyrics subtitled over it.

Jones, Jevon Holland, Mack Hollins, and Trill Williams have been using the app all season, posting football-related content as well as other funny videos.
It’s great to see Jones showing love for his quarterback like this.
