As the Boston Celtics wrap up the 2019-20 regular season on Thursday, the team will be resting several starters and rotational players, clearing the way for some of the younger guys on the roster.
The Celtics announced that Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker will be among the six players to sit against the Washington Wizards. The team has already secured the third seed in the Eastern Conference and will face the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs.
According to Celtics play-by-play voice Sean Grande, head coach Brad Stevens will start rookie Tremont Waters at point guard in the contest. No word has emerged on the rest of the starting lineup, though Stevens had a hilarious question regarding Tacko Fall.

Fall played sparingly this season with the Celtics, logging only six appearances. During lopsided victories at TD Garden in Boston, fans would often chant “We Want Tacko!” to persuade Stevens to sub his 7-foot-5 center into the game.
Back in December, with the Celtics sporting a healthy over the Detroit Pistons, Stevens himself began to hype up the home crowd to cheer for Fall. Once Fall eventually jumped up to check into the game, he received a standing ovation and a warm welcome by fans.

Of course, no fans are in attendance during the season restart at the Wide World of Sports Complex but the NBA has added virtual fans that can be seen on video boards near the court for the “home” team during each matchup.
The NBA also added some familiar sounds that would be heard inside of arenas during teams’ home games, which makes Stevens’ question fun in nature. Hearing fans cheer for Fall would certainly add intrigue in an otherwise meaningless matchup…
The Celtics and Wizards tip-off at 12 p.m. ET on Thursday.
