The Buffalo Bills have plenty of young building blocks on their roster, but Bleacher Report thinks quarterback Josh Allen is the team’s best “building block” looking into the future.
B/R tabbed one of those for every NFL team, and here’s why they think Allen is just that for the Bills:
In his second season with the Buffalo Bills, Josh Allen took a significant step forward as a quarterback. He improved his accuracy. He made fewer mistakes and turnovers. And most importantly, Allen got the Bills into the postseason for the second time in three years.
With Stefon Diggs’ arrival, the weapons available to Allen will be significantly better than they were last year. He may never be a 70 percent passer, but the big kid from Wyoming with the even bigger arm has grown into a leader for the Bills entering his third season.
Heading into his third season, the Bills are hoping to get the full package from Allen. If the Bills do get that, it could be a massive window of opportunity for the team.
Currently Allen is playing on his rookie contract. If things work out for him and the Bills, Buffalo will ink him to an extension. In doing so, he’ll have a much bigger payday and it could be tougher for the Bills to building around him. It won’t be impossible, but more so the ideal situation for the club.
