Weight is a concern for Mississippi State corner Cameron Dantzler, but he proved he could shut down some of the best college wide receivers.
Bleacher Report liked what it saw enough to say that Dantzler is the draft pick of most value for the Vikings. Here’s what the outlet said about the choice:
“While Gladney and Dantzler could both become starters early in their careers, Dantzler—whom Minnesota selected with the 89th pick—appears to be the best bargain.”
Bleacher Report also mentioned the Vikings cornerbacks who left in free agency. Trae Waynes and Xavier Rhodes were both starters in 2019 and they both signed elsewhere. Mackensie Alexander, the team’s nickel corner in 2019, also signed with a different team.
Minnesota still has cornerbacks Mike Hughes and Holton Hill, but neither of those guys have been in a role as the mainstay starter for a season.
“While there will be a transition period in Minnesota’s secondary this season, don’t expect a major drop-off,” Bleacher Report said about the situation.
