Boston’s Tacko Fall meets with WWE’s John Cena at Garden

The Boston Celtics have more than one wrestling fan in their frontcourt rotation — big man Tacko Fall joining Enes Kanter in his love for the WWE.

Boston Celtics big man Enes Kanter isn’t the only center on the roster with a taste for professional wrestling, it seems.

Two way fan favorite Tacko Fall has long been an aficionado for the sometimes-campy, always intense spectacle that is the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) organization.

The Senegalese center made a point of meeting up with his longtime wrestling idol John Cena when the WWE came to Boston this week, and when the duo met backstage, the 6-foot-1 Cena looked like a pre-teen standing next to the 7-foot-5 Fall — as most of us would.

Thanking the Celtic big man for “lending” the wrestling league TD Garden, the two exchanged words and opinions on Boston’s typically frigid winters before parting.

Earlier, Fall was interviewed by WWE hostess Kayla Braxton about his experience as a fan.

The Conakry native revealed he also followed The UnderTaker and Big Show along with Cena as a youth following wrestling from Senegal.

Braxton broached the question of whether — like Kanter — Fall had ever had interest in wrestling. And despite the fact he was very aware of some of the taller characters from WWE history, the prospect had never crossed his mind.

“Who knows in the future — but I doubt it,” offered the UCF product.

While the big man is renowned for his gregarious nature, he’s also not a fan of being a spectacle simply because of his prodigious height. So it’s not too surprising that for this particular Celtics center, wrestling is only going to be a pastime going forward.
