Boston’s Marcus Smart thinks Draymond Green ‘made a mistake’ with the Jordan Poole fight

Smart knows a thing or two about intense feelings between teammates when things aren’t going as they should.

No stranger to being under the media microscope after events not of his own making brought unwanted attention to a team trying to get ready to contend for a title, Boston Celtics veteran point guard had thoughts about the incident between Golden State Warriors star forward Draymond Green and shooting guard Jordan Poole.

Smart talked about how often fiery moments happen behind the scenes at practice and reacted to Green punching Poole at practice last week. Smart said the Warriors swingman made a mistake as a leader and that it’ll take some professionalism to move on, as is always the case when things get physical between teammates.

The Flower Mound native also discussed his ankle, oblique and other physical ailments from the summer, and said he and the team’s other guards have been more involved in screening.
