Bleacher Report broke down the 2017 running back class recently, Vikings running back Dalvin Cook included.
Brad Gagnon, who is a national writer for the outlet, said Cook has one thing to prove: he has to stay healthy.
Here’s some of what Gagnon said about the Minnesota running back:
“Cook has to stay healthy. His third season looked like it would be his first 16-game campaign, but the Florida State product hurt his shoulder in December, missed the final two games of a breakout season and averaged only 3.0 yards per carry in the playoffs.”
Gagnon said that when it comes to Cook, “a big commitment would be ill-advised,” due to Alexander Mattison’s 4.6 yards per carry as a rookie. Personally, I think Cook is a proven asset, and if the Vikings can make a deal where there is not a lot of guaranteed money on the back end, then the team should try and make it work.
