Bleacher Report predicts 6 wins for Giants in 2020

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report believes the New York Giants will finish with a 6-10 record in 2020.

The New York Giants are favored in just one regular season game in 2020 (depending on the sportsbook), while Touchdown Wire has them winning just four and we here at Giants Wire have them winning just five.

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report is feeling a bit more optimistic about the team, however. He currently has the Giants slated to finish the season with a 6-10 record.

Like their NFC East rivals in both Dallas and Washington, the New York Giants have a new coach in 2020. Joe Judge is taking over a Giants franchise that won only four games last year and has advanced to the playoffs only once in the last eight seasons.

The Giants’ schedule could help Judge get off to a fast start. Among the NFL’s eight divisions, only the AFC North has an easier draw this year than the NFC East, and New York’s opponents were a combined nine games under .500 last season.

However, a Giants team trying to upgrade its offense and piece together a pass rush will face some stiff tests. Beyond their four games against the Cowboys and Eagles, the Giants will play host to the 49ers in Week 3 and travel to face the 14-win Ravens in Week 16.

Any improvement the Giants make in 2020 will likely be incremental.

Prediction: 6-10

Comparatively, Davenport has the Dallas Cowboys finishing with a record of 10-6, the Philadelphia Eagles with a record of 9-7 and the Washington Redskins with a record of 4-12.

It’s hard to argue with Davenport’s take on the Giants. Some may want to believe they’ll be the next team to magically turn things around, but there’s still a ways to go. Anything above four wins would be a nice step in the right direction.
