Blazers coach Terry Stotts confirms Damian Lillard will play in Game 3

The Portland Trail Blazers star said he would play after last night’s loss, but his coach confirmed it on Friday.

If there was any doubt regarding the status of Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard heading into Saturday evening’s Game 3, his head coach erased all of those when he spoke to reporters on Friday. Stotts said that Lillard is receiving multiple treatments on his dislocated left index finger and that he will probably wear some kind of splint on it, but that he will play through the injury in Game 3.

Lillard described what he is feeling in the finger after the Lakers evened the series at 2.

“It’s just sore,” Lillard said. “A little bit tender to the touch. Dislocated it, it’s a little bit sore, swollen, and uncomfortable.”

Lillard was held to just 18 points last night, his lowest scoring total through 11 games in the NBA bubble. The Lakers did an excellent job of throwing multiple guys at him and as a whole, the Lakers destroyed the Blazers on the glass and were the more physical team in Thursday’s crucial Game 2 win.
