Nets veteran Blake Griffin did not have the most memorable stint with the Detroit Pistons even though he spent three years with the team. In 138 games with the franchise, the 32-year-old averaged 20.7 PPG, 6.7 RPG and 5 APG. Griffin was constantly battling injuries in Detroit and this played a huge part in what the Oklahoma product brought to the team’s success.
On the Pardon My Take podcast, Griffin threw some shade at Pistons fans. It was while he was opening up a pack of trading cards and pulling his own card from his stint with the Detroit Pistons:
“That must have been the 2018-19 season when I was an All-Star, All-NBA, I dunked a few times, played in the playoffs injured, but ya… I’d hate me too, Detroit.”
Until this day, Pistons fans believe the veteran did not give his all with the team. And yes, his lack of vintage dunks was a factor in this. Since Griffin’s decision to join Brooklyn, there has been a lot of love lost between the Detroit fanbase and the 32-year-old.
