Veteran Boston Celtics big man Blake Griffin has established himself as one of the team’s veteran mentors, a reliable force off the bench who also functions in a player-coach role to the younger players. But fans of the storied franchise may not know as much about Griffin the person.

NBC Sports Boston’s Abby Chin recently sat down with the Oklahoma native for an interview that ought to shed a little light on Griffin the man, including which NCAA team he pulls for and his musical endeavors with the “Bus 1 Boys” that features teammate Luke Kornet on the piano.

They also touch on some basketball concerns, such as how Griffin stays ready for inconsistent but important minutes, as well as what it’s like to be leaned on by the younger players.
